AKA, Margaritas are better with gin
Cocktail Sunday afternoon this week is the Pegu Club, AKA, “Margaritas are better with gin.” Time to tip one.
Pegu Club
Potion:
2 oz Gin (Tanqueray here)
¾ oz Orange Liqueur (Cointreau here)
½ oz Fresh Filtered Lime Juice
3 dashes Angostura bitters
2 drops 20% saline
1 Lime peel garnish
Procedure:
Chill a coupe or martini glass. Place all ingredients, sans garnish, in the tin. Bring ice to the party and give a good, vigorous shake till chilled. Out into the glass and garnish.
In cocktails like this, you can adjust your liqueur and citrus juice to achieve the balance you like. Or, varying the orange liqueur will achieve the same effect. I like mine heavy on the Angostura, but you do you. Enjoy.
