I like this drink because of the chartreuse and the maraschino - two bold flavors that somehow work well with each other. I agree that the gin is not really doing a lot here; I will often use Aviation or Tanqueray or...whatever I'm trying to finish off. I like the cherry trick, I've never done it before! I often serve it without the cherry because the drink is already pretty sweet (I sometimes add a bit more lime).

I'd be curious about the coconut milk version - similar preparation as the milk?
